REFLECTION TASK 3

My candidate is Helena Bonham Carter (born 26 May 1966) who is a very talented English actress. She acted in many successful movies such as Fight Club, Les Misérables, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Great Expectations, Charlie's Chocolate Factory and finally Harry Potter series. For me, she is not like any other actresses, her skills are much improved and distinctive. She is literally one of a kind and her old partner Tim Burton together with her fellow Johnny Depp play a great role in her success. She performed excellently in Fight Club, Les Misérables and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, which definitely are several ones of my favourite movies. She lost nothing in her acting talent presently, she keeps on performing in the same succeeding way on her movies. I admire her own way of reflecting her characters and also her own personality. With everything she has and she has done, she totally deserves to be the person of the year.
A short musical part from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
                                                                    Les Misérables
REFLECTION TASK 2B

"True Blood" is an American TV drama on HBO. The story takes place in Bon Temps, a fictional town in Louisiana and it is based on series of novels by Charlaine Harris. The serie is original and breathtakin with many unexpected scenes. It is of good quality compared with other fictional series and it is one of the reasons why people call it "a vampire serie for adults". The serie's first episode has been published with the name "Strange Love" and its last episode, "Thank You" has met the audience last summer. It has seven seasons in total.
I very much like its content because you do not sense sham, simplicity and corniness. The serie includes unique characters such as Godric, Eric and Jessica but also there are some characters which I find very useless and annoying. I dislike the way the producer puts the emphasis especially on these characters when there are others that audience admire more. Also I do not appreciate that the scriptwriter did not let a character who was loved and seemed as successful by the audience survive just to fit in the books.
Although it has few issues that I mentioned above, this serie is so far from being what you are used to watch, as a matter of fact it is a serie produced by HBO.

REFLECTION TASK 2A

This time, I will tell you a little bit about William Shakespeare because he and his talents are very much admirable and also he is so special for me in a way that I make some of my decisions according to the effects of his works at my viewpoint of life.
To begin with, his way of reflecting the events in life is very unique which makes me get stuck on him because I have never seen such an impressive way of doing this. He sees the situations so differently that readers cannot realize until they wholly understand his works. Also both his dramas and sonnets are very fluent and this really get me into them. Honestly, after I realized every work of him is truly a masterpiece, I could not read any other writer other than so few ones. I cannot find the taste in any other book I read and this really makes me disappointed because soon I will run out of books since I will already have read every book of him.
But sadly, sometimes his books kind of bore me because of its heavy language. The times I have difficulty with understanding what he means make me think of it couple of times and then I start to get bored because I cannot figure it out.
Since I really enjoy reading his especially dramas and also since his books are my almost only sources of reading material because I do not like any other, I formed a way to handle my problem of getting bored and irritated. Now, I firstly read the Turkish version of the books and then read the originals so that I can understand clearly and compare them as well.

THE AGING POPULATION

The  number of men and woman in the US  aged 60 or over still in work has been rising for more than a decade.  Economists have given a number of reasons for this trend. First, since 1985 the US economy has been expanding so there has been an increased demand for labour. At the same time, the cost of some services, such as health care, has been increasing, so workers need to earn more money in later life.In addition, changes in social security benefits and rules have had a considerable effect on labour patterns.First, in 1977 and 1983 changes to the Social Security Act raised  the full benefit age from 65 to 67 and introduced other changes that make delaying retirement more attractive. Then, in 1986 the Age Discrimination Act ended compulsory retirement for all workers, allowing them to work later in life. Changes to pension laws encouraged workers to staying employment longer, as this gives them more change of a larger pension when they retire.
